Full black silk with gilt titles and decorations on the front panels and the spine panels, color illustrations affixed to the front panels. Printed on special Fabriano paper. Publisher's letter in Italian, English, and French laid in. Both volumes and clamshell boxes are in fine condition. Probably the most famous of the titles published by Franco Maria Ricci and surely the most unusual. A masterpiece of fantasy painstakingly illustrating a non-existent world and written in a non-existent language which, at times, seems to be a surrealist parody of our own world. Serafini, an architect and graphic designer, wrote and illustrated the volumes during a two-year period in the late 1970s. A lovely set in superior condition, the best we have seen in a while. ; Folio; Signed by Author.
