The set includes issues #1 to 10, 12 to 15, 17 to 39, 41, 43 to 46, 48, 49 and 51. The Corriere dei Piccoli, founded in 1908 by Silvio Spaventa Filippi, is considered the first comic published in Italy. Among the characters appearing in these issues are il Signor Bonaventura by Sergio Tofano, Pippo e Carolina, Rosaspina and Lionello by Antonio Rubino and some of the most important American strips of the era including Jiggs and Maggie (Arcibaldo e Petronilla) by George McManus and Felix the Cat (Mio Mao) by Pat Sullivan. Illustrations by Attilio Mussino, Carlo Bisi, Antonio Rubino and many others. Profusely illustrated and including many stories, articles and more. Condition varies from fair to good/very good with toning to pages, chipping to edges, tears and creases. Eight issues show heavier toning to pages and chipping to edges than usual. More details as follows: #3 and 12 show heavy foxing to edges; #4 and 33 were folded incorrectly; #6 has pencil markings on the lower edge of the first page; #23 has a tear to last page.
