Borough of New Windsor Early 19th Century Broadside Issued for the Death of the Duke of York and Albany.

Broadside issued by John Voules, Mayor of New Windsor, on January 17, 1827, for the death of Prince Frederick, Duke of York and Albany. It reads:" In compliance with the requisition of many respectable inhabitants for a general meeting, to consider an Address of Condolence to His Majesty on the lamented decease of his late Royal Highness the Duke of York and Albany, High Steward of this borough, I do hereby request the attendance of the inhabitants at a general meeting at the Guildhall, on Monday next, the 22nd instant, at one o'clock." Measures roughly 28 x 22 cm, mounted on linen. Folded edges with pin sized holes, inscription in pencil on the right, older inscription on the back, folding creases. Very good.
