The set includes issues #1 to 42 and 49 to 52. The Corriere dei Piccoli, founded in 1908 by Silvio Spaventa Filippi, is considered the first comic published in Italy. Among the characters appearing in these issues are il Signor Bonaventura by Sergio Tofano, Rosbiff by Diego Santambrogio, Escamillo di Giaci Mondaini, and some of the most important American strips of the era including Jiggs and Maggie (Arcibaldo e Petronilla) by George McManus and Felix the Cat (Mio Mao) by Pat Sullivan. Illustrations by Carlo Bisi, Attilio Mussino, Roberto Squilli and many others. Profusely illustrated and including many stories, articles (on D'Annunzio, Edison, Lindbergh and early aviation) and more. Condition varies from fair to very good with toning to pages, chipping to edges, tears and creases. More details as follows: #4 has the upper corner of the last two pages torn, barely affecting the art; #12 and 13 have some spotting to the edges; #20, 29, 30,, 41 and 49 show heavier chipping to the edges; #24 has the lower corner of the last page torn (not affecting art); the first sheet of #32 is completely split at spine; #52 was folded incorrectly.
