Edition published to celebrate the seven hundredth anniversary of Dante's birth. In three volumes. 210, p; 225, pp; 240, pp. Quarter brown morocco, spine with two raised bands, lettered and decorated in gold. Printed on Ventura paper. With more than one hundred illustrations by fifty contemporary Italian artists including Giorgio de Chirico, Renato Guttuso, Emilio Greco, Aligi Sassu, Carlo Carrà, Remo Brindisi, Massimo Campigli, Carlo Corsi, Carlo Guarienti assembled for a special Quadriennale exhibition in 1960. The three volumes are in fine condition but for a small bruise to the spine head of volume one. The slipcases show some toning and wear and one has a short tear to the side.
