Contemporary dark green full calf bindings, sides ruled in gold and tooled in blind, spines with five raised bands, gilt decorations, red morocco labels lettered in gold, gilt inside dentelles, all edges gilt, pale green endpapers. The bindings are by Waters of Newcastle and are signed on the front pastedown endpapers. Front hinges of both volumes were at some point reinforced. Portrait frontispiece and engraved title page in First Series volume. Fleur-de-lis bookplates with initials L. N. on the front pastedown endpapers. A touch of foxing to endpapers. Internally extremely clean. Spines uniformly darkened and mildly worn, light wear to extremities. A nice very good+ set in a sumptuous binding. ; 12mo.
